We currently have a fantastic and exciting opportunity for a dynamic, strong leader to join us as Interim Head of Marketing for up to one year to cover a period of maternity leave. As our Head of Marketing you will develop and deliver the department strategy and customer marketing plan, ensuring it underpins the Company’s objectives. 

 Key responsibilities as our Head of Marketing:

  • Work alongside the Marketing Director to develop the marketing strategy for the Company and to develop the Bestway Retail brands
  • Develop an annual customer marketing plan in conjunction with the Buying team which details all activity to meet the Company objectives.
  • Responsible for the marketing budget, ensuring this is not exceeded.
  • Be a champion of customer centric data driven decision making, ensuring ‘the customer is always in the room' when decisions are made.
  • Oversee the delivery of all marketing material in line with the customer marketing plans and promotional activity, owning the whole process from concept to implementation.
  • Develop and implement digital marketing strategy
  • Work with Commercial Finance to monitor and report on effectiveness of all marketing communications.
  • Negotiate with the relevant partner marketing agencies to ensure quality of service and return on investment and work closely with them to ensure effective results.
  • Keep abreast of all marketing and industry development and trends to ensure the Company utilises all relevant marketing techniques, methods and media.
  • Report on relevant competitor activity.
  • Role model excellent customer service and ensure this is replicated throughout the team.
  • Ensure the Marketing team is effectively resourced, directed, motivated and developed enabling them to reach their full potential for both individual and Company benefit.

Job Requirements

About you…

  • The ideal candidate will have significant Retail Marketing experience gained in a similar role
  • Recent experience of managing marketing in large retail estates
  • Recent experience of managing large budgets in excess of £1m
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience in leading large and diverse teams
  • Experience of managing multiple agencies and media planning/buying
  • Experience in high volume print
  • Excellent written skills and confident presenter
  • Skilled Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint user with demonstrable understanding of websites, CRM and Social Media management
